Do you feel bored and want relax and go somewhere new? How about going to Pusan National University? Many people think that university is just a boring place where the students go for study, professors come for teaching or researchers do some experiments, but actually you can also relax, enjoy, and spend your free time here! Let’s see some points that you can enjoy in Pusan National University~!

Pusan University was founded in May 1946 and has become one of top 10 national universities in South Korea and the biggest university in Busan and Gyeongsangnam-do. It is located in Geumjeong-gu and can be easily reached using metro line 1 at Pusan National University station or bus, such as bus number 29, 49, 51, 77, 80, 100, 100-1, 121, 130, 131, 144, 183, and 301.

In front of the main gate you can see a big department store ‘Good Plus’, where you can spend your time to watch movie in the Lotte Cinema, shopping, or enjoy some drinks at the café. Close to the department store, there are basketball field and football field. It is relaxing to watch the students playing in the field in the afternoon.

Do you want to see more view in Pusan National University? Why not? Go upside and you can see a small river near to Humanities Building (Building #306).

Go up more, about the middle of campus you can find a Pusan National University museum (building #412). The museum is free and open from Monday to Friday from 10:00 until 17:00 (except the holiday). You can see a lot of collection of Paleolithic, Neolithic, Bronze Age, Samhan Period, Samguk Period at the museum. Unfortunately, they do not allow taking any picture inside the museum. If you want to have the picture of the collections, you can ask the English booklet of the museum and they will gladly give you one. More information about Pusan National University museum can be found at http://www.pnu-museum.org/.

There are some parks that you can enjoy inside the university such as park in front of Social Science building (building #421), park at the south direction of Humanities building (building #306), park at the north side of Research and Laboratory building #3 (building #709) and so on, but the most recommended one is the park in front of Biology building (building #416). There are some trees and unique statues inside the park. There is also a small café ‘Coffee in Village’ at the corner of the park where they sell some varieties of drinks and biscuit with price range from 2.000 to 4.500 won. You can try to enjoy yourself at the park while reading book or just see the students passing by at the lesson break time.

For the people who like shopping, enjoy food, and party, shopping area in front of Pusan National University can be heaven for you. The price is relatively lower than other shopping center in Busan because their market target is usually university student. You can find fast food, Korean food, Indian restaurant, Vietnamese food, Pakistan restaurant, seafood restaurant and some bakery to fill your appetite. The area is full of many entertainments such as pocket ball pool, bowling center, Karaoke (norebang), Internet café, bar, club, and so on.
