A new beautiful fountain @ Busan Station!!!

       This end of May, I went to Daegu. I had to take train, so I went to Busan station, and I was surprised that there was a new big beautiful fountain in front of the station! I thought that it was just me who just too forgetful that I couldn't remember that the fountain was there since a long long time ago. But as I thought once again, no! That's really a new fountain!
       I don't have enough time to take the picture before I went to Daegu, so I took them after I came back to Busan.

       The fountain, 'Plaza Fountain', was operating from May 19th. It can shoots water up to 20 meter high and it can show various shape of water shoot with music. It freshen the atmosphere around the station specially when the summer comes!

One Nice Afternoon @ Pukyong National University

       Pukyong National University (PKNU/부경대학교) is one of national universities in Busan, South Korea. It has two campuses in Daeyeon and Yongdang. Since there are a lot of hills in Busan, it is difficult to find a campus without a slope. But Daeyeon campus is the only one flat campus in Busan. The campus can be easily reach by subway (Kyungsung University&Pukyong National University subway station, line 2) or bus number 10, 20, 22, 24, 27, 39, 40, 41, 42, 51, 83, 83-1, 108-1, 131, 139, 155, 583, 1003.
       I went to PKNU last week at a nice afternoon with my friend to meet other friends and hang around the campus. We bought lunch box for our late lunch and enjoyed it at the park inside the campus. It very easy to find a lot of food variety near PKNU because there is a shopping area in front of the campus. After that afternoon, I found it is a nice idea to hang around just in university area. There are a lot of interesting things to see and enjoy with your friends.




       There is a wooden sidewalk from subway station to PKNU. The street seller and green tall trees make the scenery looks very nice.





       There is a small space/stage in the sidewalk where people specially PKNU student can do performance. When I went there I saw some of students were having a performance and I took a video when they sang 'I don't care' by 2NE1, one of famous girl group in South Korea.

There is a beautiful park with a pond and gazebo in front of the main library inside the campus. A perfect place to enjoy spring breezy wind.

PKNU is famous of its fisheries and maritime science, therefore you can find some ship statues inside the campus.

The campus is very close to Gwangan-bridge and the beach. If you go to the campus, take some time to see the beautiful night scene of Gwanganli. If you see this picture below, its just like The Bund in Shanghai right?

Have fun in Pusan National University part#2

       In the Office of International Service, they provide information and service for international student. The building name was 'Woon Juk Jung Cafetaria', an english chatting cafetaria, but after reconstruction in 2010, it changed the name. On the first floor there is Global Lounge, where you can read foreign magazine, watching English movie, doing internet, and meet some international students or professors. There is also a small park behind the building.






       There are two main libraries in Pusan National University Busan campus (there are also other libraries in Miryang campus and Yangsan campus). If you love to read book, these places might be a heaven for you! But, unfortunately, you must have PNU student card to enter the university and borrow books. If you live nearby and want to borrow book from PNU library, you can apply for one year membership.







       Do you like to eat cheap meal with copious portion? Try to eat at campus canteen! The price is from 2.000 won ~ 3.500 won, with different menu everyday.

[PNU Arts Special 2011] Busan Geomungo

        And now I'm back to report about PNU Arts Special 2011! On May 26th 2011, I saw the performance. This time is Busan Geomungo (a traditional Korean stringed instrument) performance. There were some Korean folks arts, such as pansori (판소리) and gayageum (가야금).
They showed :
1. 생소병주 수룡음
2. 한갑득류 거문고산조 제주
3. 판소리
4. 작은 별 주제에 의한 변주곡
5. 거문고를 위한 기상곡
It was very good! I also took some videos~

[PNU Arts Special 2011] Violin Solisten Ensemble

       The performance is part of 'Campus Arts Special On Thursday' at Pusan National University (PNU).
